Barbie Malibu Dream House by Jonathan Adler

Since Mattel's Barbie turns 50 this year the company has decided to honor it's biggest money maker with a whole new look and an ultimate Malibu Dream House. My BFF Jonathan Adler designed the 3500 sq.ft. Malibu house in his signature Happy Chic decor and added some custom pieces like a chandelier made of Barbie hair, a closet with thousands of Barbie shoes and a sunburst mirror made of Barbie bodies. Since the Malibu Dream House will not be open to the public (RUDE!) I felt as though I had no choice but to borrow these images from here, thanks for the photos Tom Andrews.

This anniversary edition Barbie will be sold for $3 at select stores, the original cost of a Barbie doll fifty years ago.
And of course Barbie needs a pink car to cruise the PCH.

This Volkswagon is complete with a Barbie make up case in the trunk for emergencies.

My thoughts exactly....it seems like they are going to do a private party thing, red carpet thing, etc. with this space, which totally sucks because after all the public has made Barbie the icon she is, not a bunch of celebrities. I did read that JA will be decorating some suites at The Palms in LV which will be available to be rented out, not that they will be on any scale like this.

I want the bug. OMG, that is beyond...beyond something. It's so disgustingly cute it makes me feel barfy. But it's so disgustingly cute!
