Comic and Graphic Prints on Trendwatch

Obviously comic books are a huge draw at the box office, but are they segueing into our decor too? Modern chic and budget friendly stores such as IKEA and CB2 are using pop, comic and graphic imagery to adorn everything from tableware to bedding. How will these vibrantly colored pieces work into the most monochromatic of homes? Starting with children's rooms? Maybe. Above, comic appetizer plates from CB2, $3 each.
I would totally buy this chess board for my husband or as a hostess gift for a hip couple. Artecnicainc, $33.

Wall decals are a solution to painting and wallpapering for many urban renters with strict lease agreements. Scribbleonwalls, $40.

Typography gives these accessories a playful 70's vibe. Serving tray $60 Decorativethings; Number decals $40 Velocityartanddesign; Alphabet cards $15.50 Flax; Number pillows $110 Kimberly Hall Kids.
