To Tribute or Not to Tribute?

I know the YSL Tribute has been around for a minute but I have yet to invest in a pair (most around $900). I see them sometimes in the glossies and think they look great and other times think they look kind of strange, I am torn. What do you think? I like a sky high heel, but are these platforms overdoing it?

I am strongly considering purchasing this gold pair. I have four weddings to attend this summer and I think I would use them for at least half. What do you think? Tell me everything....

I'm also torn - sometimes I think they look totally seductive & sultry, then others, I'd just feel silly.

As for now, I'm not investing the $900, but maybe if I see something nice, & a bit less obvious, I might try them out ; - )

Do I love them? YES!

Do I think you should maybe wait until they go on sale? Probably?

Do I think they'll remain a classic that you can keep going back to? Yes, every 3 years or so platforms seem to come back. Plus and YSL is always a good investment.

Personally I'm leaning towards the aubergine. I don't know what happened to me but I'm all about deep purples this year. It never used to be my thing.

You will want to cry out in agony after an hour at said wedding! Trust me, I made this mistake with a very beautiful pair of Prada heels. Just looking at them makes me weep.

i've been wanting these too...but it's a tough call. if they were maybe $600 it would be an easier answer...is there anything else like it out there?? they are pretty hot!
maybe you should visit the shoes at the store to see if you REALLY need them!

You all have very valid points! I think these are great in gold, but I am going to look for something with a more chunky heel, I have a wedding in Mexico and I don't know about these in the sand. Alas...swoon.

I think you would wear them for many years.

Thanks Anonymous. Although I am never one to shy away from Lucite, I think the YSL is more my style.

I 2nd the aubergine. The gold is just...too much. Plus they're potentially a source of speculation, as in, "I wonder if she's going to show up in the gold YSL platforms AGAIN?" KMarie
