Irish Traveller Update

It's been a little while since we've had such glamorous and exquisite photos featured at the Chateau, so many thanks to Eddie over in Ireland for his eye of expertise when it comes to such beauty. Joan, 22, is considered ancient by Irish Traveller standards of getting engaged at 14. So old gal did it up by having a 20 foot train which required a separate van to drive it to and from the ceremony. Good for you Joan! Way to hang in there for the right man to come along! The faces of the innocent have been blurred for their protection.

Joan's Barbie cake featured a running fountain.

Congrats Joan & Eli. May your children grow up to have a wedding as picturesque as your own. Photos by Laura Millar.

Hi

This wedding featured in a documentary entitled My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding which showed in the UK last week and which is still available to watch on line

http://www.channel4.com/programmes/my-big-fat-gypsy-wedding/4od

but if you can't watch it where you are, there are a few clips on youtube. Here's one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HAUmII_hcg

Or put the programme name into google. The dresses were unbelievable but more interesting was learning about the traveller people themselves. It really was fascinating.

Thanks Lucinda! You know how much I love these Travellers. They just keep outdoing each other with wedding frou frou and gimmicks. Ha! I get such a kick every time I get to see pictures. Please thank your friend for sending them.
