Areaware Makes Things You Need

Areaware is a New York based producer of everyday objects that are both functional and unusual. They create thoughtful products with a sense of humor highlighting young artists of American design. One of my favorites, Harry Allen, designed this resin and marble dump truck to serve as a catch-all bowl for a fun entry table.

The "Victim's Shoe Horn" made of polypropylene is in the shape of a Japanese sword and very affordable at $10 on Gilt today.

And who doesn't need a laptop bag with a delicious chicken leg on it? Another bargain at $20.

Another delight from Harry Allen is "My Brother's Frame" made of marble and resin. I love the Baroque detail with a modern twist. Check out more of Areaware here.
